Sketching is very important to the designing community in order to express the intention and also keeping the ideas open ended. This course aims to start from the very basics of sketching such as hand control, axes and planes, line of sight, vanishing point etc and by the end of this course, one would be able to create 3d view sketches of space while designing. The activity for students happens throughout the course for better understanding.

• Activity: connecting points in straight line
• Drawing freehand measured lines

Internship & Work Opportunities
The Designers’ Studio runs an active Internship Programme whereby we collaborate with several interior design companies and showrooms such as Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, Crate and Barrel to name a few. The end goal of our training is to secure work in the industry for our graduates and we actively facilitate this. Work shadowing is organised for top students during holiday breaks. Great care is taken to match the student's aspirations and abilities with a suitable practice.

Our Main Teachers
Anam Clarke, founder of The Designers’ Studio, has in excess of 10 years of interior design experience, 9 of those in the Middle East including running her own practice. Born and raised in London, her grandfather and mother were both architects and designers. Her passion for art, architecture and design was rooted in her from the very start. She developed her passion and studied Architectural Interior Design at the prestigious Inchbald School of Design in Chelsea. She worked with the royals at David Linley Interiors during her career in London and moved to Dubai 9 years ago. Her portfolio includes Residential, Commercial, Hospitality and Food and Beverage projects all over the world. She has won awards for her design work and has been featured in magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Inside out, Grazia, Better Homes, Gulf News to name but a few. She speaks annually at the Index exhibition in the UAE and writes a column for ‘Emirates Home’ regularly. Anam is extremely passionate about design, sharing her open minded, out of the box approach to design with her students. Anam is particularly well-versed in programmes such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp and V-Ray and she looks forward to sharing her tricks of the trade with her students.
