If students successfully complete 7 courses (shown below) with The Designers’ Studio, they will receive a graded Diploma. To qualify for a Designers’ Studio Diploma, students will need to complete the following courses:
- Residential 1-3
- Commercial 1
- Professional 1
- A programme course- SketchUp or AutoCad.
- An additional course of your preference (Photoshop, Commercial 2 etc.)
The internationally recognized Diploma is accredited be a City and Guilds, we offer a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Techniques- Interiors with qualification number 7157-13. The City and Guilds are the world leader in skills development and are recognised as the benchmark for high quality training that meet the needs of today’s workplace. Certificate courses take 4 weeks to complete while Diploma courses can take up to a year with course combining. However, with our flexible course times students can take more time if they wish. By the time students receive their Diploma, they will be armed with an eye-catching portfolio and skills required to make them sought after candidates for internships and employment. The Designers’ Studio assists many students with opportunities though their industry contacts.
To maximize their grade, it is recommended that they demonstrate competency in Residential/ Commercial/ Professional design/ SketchUp or Computer Aided Design (CAD). Grades are awarded as follows:
Distinction– Student has shown a consistently excellent standard of work across all areas of design.
Honours– Student has shown a consistently high standard of work across all areas of design.
High Merit – Student has shown a consistently good standard of work across all areas of design.
Merit – Student has shown a consistently good standard of work across all areas of design.
Pass – Student has shown a consistently adequate standard of work across all areas of design.
After Diploma: The Designers’ Studio runs an active Internship Programme whereby we collaborate with several interior design companies and showrooms such as Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, Crate and Barrel to name a few. The end goal of our training is to secure work in the industry for our graduates and we actively facilitate this. Work shadowing is organised for top students during holiday breaks. Great care is taken to match the student’s aspirations and abilities with a suitable practice.
